Are You Living The Dream
Right Now, The economy is in a whirlwind. We don't know what is going to happen later today or even tomorrow. What I do know it that well over 88% of the American people don't have a backup plan if they should happen to loose there jobs. Most Americans are already living paycheck to paycheck and are barely getting by.
At this writing, it is summer of 2009. I, as stated, live in a city where General Motors once flourished. It was the job that everyone was looking to grow up and get onto. A factory job making some of the most sought after vehicles in the country. Now, nearly all of the primary GM plants and the subordinate parts manufactuing plants, suppliers of the parts for the GM vehicles, are all closed. Thousands of workers Out Of Work!
Earlier this year, General Motors had to scramble and begged for a bail out from the U.S. government to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars! The company is dying. However, GM is not the only one. The complete Automobile industry is at risk in America. At risk is a way of life once known to be the heart of the Mid-West.
I can only hope and pray that while the government is busy bailing out the auto companies, like GM, that it will some how find a way to bail out the workers that are now displaced. In my town, It has been over 6 months that the workers were put out on the streets and I still find many of them not able to find work. And, a lot of them getting "static" about extending their Unemployment. This is a Sad Period IN AMERICA...
