Are You Living The Dream
Hey, let's talk about that Dream that some of us are living. You know, that
NEW Dream Americans are living! The one that has two parts Here is the description once againg. This dream has:

I talked about companies cutting back and cutting out. And, them just giving you what's considered a "moments notice"! Because of that short notice, there just is no time given for the worker to really prepare for the thought that your job will just suddenly "Not Be There Tomorrow"! That would be kind of a sickening feeling in the pit of ones stomach.
So far, I’m Lucky! I have a job! I’m Living The Dream! But, the question is this: Will my Luck Run Out; and, the Dream Become A Nightmare??
Let me tell you a story that has recently happened...
I live in a GM town. It includes one of the largest Truck and SUV assembly plants in the Nation. Now… Over 20,000 workers live The NIGHTMARE!! Oh yeah, other subordinate parts manufacturing plants in the area… they have been Gravely Affected, too! More than 6 manufacturing plants in all! I don’t care what caused the economic woes leading to the plant closings. Whether it was low sales volumes, unfavorable union negotiations, or the oil crises. WHO KNOWS AT THIS POINT?!!! The Bottom Line is that a CHUNK of American People, in one area, LOST THEIR JOBS!! And if they haven’t YET; there is a greater than 90% chance they will!! Now, how are you supposed to increase spending with no job. With a STIMULUS CHECK???
That was a VERY SAD Christmas Bonus for the GM workers in this area. I say that because it was around Christmas, 2008 when thes plant closed. Over the years, I remmeber there being job furlows, unionized strikes, constant negotiations. But, No One in this area ever thought that the plants would close. And definately NOT ALL OF THEM! And, the plants lay dormant with no activity of any sort... Eyesores reminding America that there has to be a change in the economy and the way businesses value their workers; and workers valuing themselves.
I have to stop and understand our Whole economy. What is needed to keep a business in business, so that the business can keep employees on the job. This is one of the sadest events in America....
